Killeen police need help finding shooting suspect

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

Killeen police are searching for a man in connection with recent gang-related incidents.

Police have identified 20-year-old Derrick Ronell Thomas Jr. as a suspect responsible for shooting at an occupied vehicle.

The Criminal Investigation Division and the Bell County District Attorney's Office have a felony arrest warrant for Thomas. He also goes by Derrick Nelson or Derrick Thomas-Nelson.

Police believe Thomas is armed and dangerous. Police said if you see him, do not try to apprehend him.

Killeen police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact police or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477.

The Killeen Police Department is working with the FBI, Texas DPS and local area law enforcement in the investigation.
