Motorcyclist who died in Monday crash identified

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Waco, according to Sgt. Patrick Swanton of the Waco Police Department.

The motorcyclist was 63-year-old Tommy Hodges of Woodway, TX.

Swanton said that officers responded to an accident after 12 p.m. at the intersection of New Road and Franklin. It was reported that a motorcycle was weaving through traffic and went into the path of an oncoming pickup truck after attempting to turn into a private lot.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The rider later died at Hillcrest Hospital from his injuries sustained from the crash.

The name of the rider has not been released and is pending notification of the next of kin.
