Baby injured in multiple car accident

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A baby and two adults were sent to the hospital following an Thursday afternoon accident.

Police said Ryan Michael Plante is responsible for the accident and have charged him with intoxication assault.

Police were called to 26th and Waco Drive at 6:14 p.m. after a Cadillac traveling southbound on 26th ran a red light - hitting another car traveling west through the intersection.

The car was pushed across the median, hitting two other cars as they attempted to get out of the way.

Two adults were sent to the hospital for their injuries. A baby was also sent to Hillcrest with six bone fractures as a result of the accident. The child was later care-flighted to Temple. There is no update on their current condition.

Police interviewed Plante at the scene and was uncooperative. He was transported to the hospital, where a search warrant was issued to blood test his alcohol levels.

Plante was subsequently charged with intoxication assault. Plante currently has one DWI conviction and one that’s pending.
