Two killed in Bynum crash

BYNUM, TX (KXXV) -

Two people were killed, and another hospitalized in an afternoon car accident one mile South of Bynum.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the two occupants of a Ford Ranger were pronounced dead at the scene. DPS has identified the driver of that vehicle as William Marks, 81, of Wortham and Linda Marks, 77, as an occupant.

According to DPS, T:30 p.m., A GMC truck pulling a trailer was traveling northbound on State Highway-171 when it veered into the southbound lane. The GMC struck the Ford Ranger traveling southbound. A third vehicle, then ran into the Ford Ranger.

The driver of the GMC truck was hospitalized with injuries but is listed in stable condition. The third driver was treated at the scene with no injuries.

Officials say they are continuing an investigation into the crash and charges are pending.
