A man who was feared to have been swept by the flooded Leon River on Wednesday was arrested on a parole violation charge.

On Thursday, Jackie Samuel Crouch, 55, was at the Coryell County Jail.

Rescue crews found him on a park bench at the FauntLeroy Park in Gatesville before 7 p.m. after searching for him for at least four hours.

A woman called authorities after he vanished following his attempt to cross the Leon River before 2:20 p.m.. She reportedly warned him to avoid crossing and mentioned she would go get help.

She said when she turned around, he was gone.
