BOSQUE COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

The Texas Department of Transportation temporarily closed Farm to Market 56 to thru traffic on Monday.

The road is closed from FM 1713 to Bosque County Road 1523, due to flooding at Cedron Creek. Another section of FM 56 from Plowman Creek Park at Kopperl to Lakeside Village is closed to thru traffic due to anticipated flooding at Raymond Creek.

According to TXDOT, heavy rains and rising lake levels due to Army Corps of Engineers flood controls prompted the closure. There is no current estimate on length of closure.

Bridges impacted along the roadway will be inspected and reopened when considered safe, according to TXDOT.

Roadway information can be found at DriveTexas.org and My35.org.
