80-year-old man injured in aggravated robbery

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

An 80-year-old Waco man sustained hand injuries during an aggravated robbery reported on Friday night.

The aggravated robbery occurred at a house in the 3900 block of Gorman before 11:15 p.m.

Waco Police said two men armed with a flashlight and a pipe went inside the home of the elderly man and stole his wallet and cash and fled the house. It is believed the suspects had a vehicle parked in front of the victim’s residence.  During the robbery, one of the suspects reportedly displayed a pipe and the other used a flashlight shining it into the victim’s face.

The victim told officers after 11 p.m., someone was repeatedly ringing his doorbell. The victim saw two men, one on the porch and the other in the driveway. The suspect told the victim someone had broken into his car. While he went to the bedroom to get dressed, the suspects went into the home uninvited.
