On Thursday night, the Nolanville City Council unanimously approved the annexation of 98 Bell County properties.

The taxes are expected to increase for residents who are annexed to the city of Nolanville. This will represent $505.40 for property valued at $100,000 by the Bell County Appraisal District. In return, they will receive city services, such as police, fire and EMS.

In the past, several residents have opposed to the measure stating paying extra in taxes would be a burden for services they said are already offered by Bell County.

On May 19, the Bell County Citizens Committee the city council during a workshop meeting proposing a delay in the annexation.

The residents impacted by the decision said they plan to meet next Tuesday to discuss whether they would like to pursue legal action.
