A toddler who drowned on Monday in a backyard pool on the 200th block of Tennessee in Waco has been identified.
Bentley Watson, a 2 1/2 year-old-boy, was pronounced deceased at 11:40 a.m. on Monday at a local hospital.
Officers said he had walked out of the home while his parents were sleeping.
The parents called officers, and while searching for the child, one officer found the child’s blanket laying on the diving board of the pool.
The pool was too cloudy to see through to the bottom.
Officers found the child after using a skimmer. The officers immediately started CPR on the child.
They continued their efforts until the ambulance arrived. The child was pronounced dead at Baylor Scott & White at Hillcrest hospital.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
