A man was arrested Monday for an aggravated assault he committed back in December 2015 in Waco.
In December, Steven Merritt is accused of hitting his girlfriend with a car after an argument. During the argument, she was standing next to the open car door, and Merritt accelerated to hit his girlfriend with the door, knocking her unconscious.
His girlfriend reported that she was awakened by him dragging her into the house and pulling her hair.
Police said the girlfriend did have bruising on her elbow and ribs. She also had a knot on her head from the assault.
