On Saturday, pet owners can get their pets microchipped for $15 in Hewitt.

The Microchip Madness event, which is the first one held in Hewitt, will be held at the Hewitt Public Safety Facility from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m, Saturday May 7. Animal Control has ordered 200 microchips for this event.

The discount is available for anyone, not just residents of Hewitt.

Hewitt Police Chief James Devlin said microchips are the best way to reunite lost pets with their owners.

Additionally, the City of Hewitt Animal Control will be conducting free pet registrations for all Hewitt residents. Owners must have proof of residency and paper proof of rabies vaccination for the animal being registered.
