An armed standoff in Killeen ended peacefully Monday afternoon.

Police were called around 9 a.m. to the 2500 block of Lavender Lane in response to a suicidal man that barricaded himself inside his home.

The Killeen Police Department and SWAT teams were on scene for over four hours trying to negotiate with the 37-year-old man inside.

Authorities said a gun was inside the house but did not know if the man, who is military, was threatening to use it on himself.

First responders blocked off entrances to all immediate streets surrounding the home, which is close to Shoemaker High School.

Eventually, the man turned himself over to police and no one was injured.
