Area parks closing as lake levels continue to rise

BELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

As water levels in Belton and Stillhouse Hollow Lake rise and rain continues to pour, several parks and camping sites in the area have closed down.

Here is a full list of closures provided by the Corps of Engineers:

  • Sparta Valley Park: Closed indefinitely
  • Temple Lake (Sandy Point): Closed
  • Westcliff Park: Tent sites T-01 through 04; camp sites 1-20 closed through the 31st of May
  • Winkler Park: Closed through the 31st of May.
  • Roger’s Park: Closed
  • McGregor Park: Closed
  • Owl Creek Park: Closed
  • Horseshoe Bend: Closed
  • Live Oak Park: Boat ramp closed
  • Dana Peak Park: Sites 21-25, tent sites 01-08, RV Site 01 closed and no new reservations accepted through 31st of May
  • Union Grove Park: Sites 34-37 closed through 31st of May
