Lane closures on Fort Hood Street and Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen will start May 2 as TxDOT begins an overlaying project.
TxDOT says the project will initially remove two inches of the existing roadway surface before applying an asphalt overlay to two miles of SH 195 between FM 3470 (Stan Schlueter Loop) and US 190 in Killeen.
The work will happen between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
TxDOT hopes the project to be completed by mid-Summer, weather permitting.
Signage warning of road work and temporary lane closures will be posted and Killeen police will assist with traffic control.
Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, flaggers and temporary delays within the area.
TxDOT warn motorists to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas.
