Update: McLennan County Water Control has rescinded the boil water notice issued earlier this week. Officials say they have taken the necessary actions to correct the issues that caused the initially caused the alert.
Due to repairs on a break line, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued a public notice to boil water in Elm Mott.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use.
When the boil order is lifted, water system officials will alert the area that the water is safe for consumption.
