Our next chance for storms is on the way Tuesday afternoon. Storms are expected to fire out west along the dry line, which separates dry air from humid air. These storms will push east to the I-35 corridor by early evening, then clear out overnight.
We could see a little bit of everything when it comes to severe weather. Large hail on the size of golf ball or bigger. Damaging winds in excess of 60mph. Even a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Takes some time to secure outdoor items like trash cans, patio furniture, and trampolines. Good idea to have the car in the garage!
Above all, make sure to have a plan of action if you need to take shelter. For brick homes, a bathroom in a bath tub is the best place. Cover yourself up with pillows and blankets. For trailer homes, have a sturdy place you can drive to like a gas station or shopping area. Don't fear the weather, be prepared for it!
