Aggies Roll into Alabama Series on Eight-Game Win Streak

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Maroon and White look to remain red hot as they host the Alabama Crimson Tide in a three-game series on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

No. 3 Texas A&M, who enters Friday’s game with an eight-game win streak, sits on top of the SEC Western Division standings with a 10-5 mark in league play. The Aggies are one game ahead of LSU (9-6) and two games ahead of Alabama (8-7) and Mississippi State (8-7).

The Aggies have scored 10 or more runs in each of the last seven contests, tying the school record set in April 1985. Texas A&M has scored 10 or more runs in five consecutive SEC games, the longest string for the Aggies since joining the league. It equals their longest stretch of league games with 10 or more runs, set in April 1987 when the Maroon and White were in the Southwest Conference.

NICK BANKS highlights the Aggie offense. Named the SEC Player of the Week on Monday, he batted .526 with a .842 slugging percentage for the week as the Aggies went 4-0, including the first sweep of Mississippi State at Dudy Noble Field since 2010. Banks logged three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and six runs as the Aggies swept the No. 8 Bulldogs. He remained hot against Texas State Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

HUNTER MELTON is on a career-best 14-game hit streak. Over the span, he’s hitting .500 (29-for-58) over the span with 15 runs, six doubles, one triple, five home runs and 25 RBI.
