Central Texas town mayor found, silver alert discontinued

MORGAN'S POINT RESORT, TX (KXXV) -

The Morgan's Point Resort 78-year-old mayor has been found after a silver alert was issued for him on Tuesday night. 

The silver alert was discontinued before 11:30 p.m. when  Lampasas Police Department found Kenneth Wayne Steger. His family picked him up shortly after. 

Police started the search for Steger after he was last seen at his home at 7:30 a.m on Tuesday and couldn't be reached on his cell phone. He was later seen in San Antonio driving his vehicle at 2 p.m.

According to the DPS silver alert, they believed the senior citizen's disappearance posed a credible threat for his own health and safety.
