A 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after hitting the side of a car on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Hewitt Police, the Midway Middle School student was headed south on Hewitt Dr around 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a vehicle traveling across Hewitt Dr from Sun Valley Blvd. to Chama Dr.
Police said neither the student nor the driver saw each other, and the student ended hitting the side of the vehicle, which was traveling at a very low speed.
The student was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center with minor scrapes and bruises.
No citations are expected to be issued in this case.
