Possible Strong to Severe Storms Today

We are starting off this Wednesday morning cloudy, muggy, and mild with temperatures in the 60s. There could be a few showers around this morning, maybe even some patchy fog with all of the moisture that is sitting on top of us. We will see a chance for more storm development as we head into the late morning hours/early afternoon, primarily around 9:00 AM to noon. We will have to watch these storms carefully with our main concern being large, damaging hail and strong winds.

We will likely get a break in the storms as the first round pushes eastward by early afternoon. With some of the clouds breaking apart and daytime heating (high temperatures around 80°), we should see another round of storms for the late afternoon/early evening hours, starting as early as 2:00 PM. All types of severe weather will be possible with these storms, so we will be watching those closely too. The storms will be scattered across the area, so we want to stress that some will miss out altogether on the storms. There is about a 50/50 shot at seeing the rain today.

Most of the activity will push off to the east tonight, but we could see a few light showers through tomorrow morning. Thursday will be cooler with highs in the mid 70s and drier air moving in with winds shifting to the northwest.
