One man injured after shooting in Temple

Temple police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured over the weekend.

Police said at 3:12 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 1000 block of East Adams Ave in reference to a report that a man was shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim who was shot in the leg. The victim said while he was at a BBQ on North 20th Street with a friend, another male shot him.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a maroon colored Jeep in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to Baylor Scott and White in Temple where officials there confirmed he was shot in the leg.

Officers could not find any BBQ, witnesses or a crime scene when they went to the North 20th Street area.

Temple police are investigating the incident.
