AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Jason Day made a 12-foot par putt on the 18th hole Sunday to beat Rory McIlroy in a high-stakes match to reach the Dell Match Play finals.

Louis Oosthuizen reached his first championship match after a 4-and-3 win over Rafa Cabrera Bello.

The Day-McIlroy match lived up to its billing from the quality of the shots to the thousands of fans who raced up the hills at Austin Country Club because no one wanted to miss a shot.

They combined for 11 birdies and seven lead changes.

Day seized control with birdies on the 13th and 14th, and McIlroy was 1 down with two to play when he lipped out from 15 feet on No. 17. Day's par putts on the 18th gave him a 1-up victory.
