Texas A&M will conduct one of the largest disaster simulations in the country.

The simulation will be held on what they are calling “Disaster Day” - Thursday, March 24 at Central Baptists Church in College Station. The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

More than 250 medical students will attend and 500 community volunteers, who will be serving as simulated patients. The volunteers will have complete makeup on in order to visually and emotionally depict a mass disaster event.

This event serves to prepare nursing, medical and pharmacy students for challenges they may deal with in their health careers.

The event was planned by Texas A&M nursing students.
