Driver escapes injury after dump truck overturns following crash

The driver of a dump truck is expected to be OK after his vehicle flipped over following a crash in Downsville on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a driver in a passenger vehicle traveling eastbound on East Tinsley road, off S. University Parks Dr., before 3:20 p.m. failed to give enough room to a dump truck driver traveling westbound.

Downsville Vol. Fire Department Assistant Chief Stephen Bostick said, the front tires of the dump truck went off to the right side of the road. The driver of the dump truck overcorrected and flipped over to the left side of the road.

DPS said at this time the description of the passenger vehicle it’s unknown because the driver continued traveling down Tinsley road.

A tow truck and crews at the scene worked to pull the dump truck out of the ditch for at least 30 minutes.
