RIESEL, TX (KXXV) -

Police have closed down the southbound lane of I-35 as heavy rain lead to flooding on the roadway.

Troy Police Chief Keith Reed says they closed the southbound lanes down around 11:15 a.m. with more than two inches of water on the road.

Reed says a car got stuck in the water and crews were being called out to pull out the vehicle. The driver made it out safe.

TxDOT was also heading to the area of flooding to start the draining process.

This is a developing story we'll update as details become available.
