On Friday, Central Texas businesses were preparing for the Fourth on the Brazos event at a different location.

This year’s Fourth on the Brazoswill take place on Touchdown Alley near McLane Stadium. The traditional location was at Indian Spring Park and the Suspension Bridge.

Hull Brothers Concessions, which will have food trucks at the event, said the controlled environment may boost sales and this location could attract more college students.

This business operated during the Fourth on the Brazos celebration at its previous location for at least 15 years. This year at Touchdown Alley, they are expecting to serve more than the 100,000 customers they had last year.

"We're expecting to have twice the amount of [food], just hoping we don’t get run over. [We’re] just planning on a pretty good size crowd out here this year,” said Taylor Hull with Hull Brothers Concessions.

At least employees at one food truck near Indian Spring Park were also expecting for a good sales day even if they won’t be at Touchdown Alley.

“Whenever there is a Baylor game, we still have a very good crowd so we are anticipating this will be similar,” said Mrs. Thompson Most Wonderful Cupcakes employee Parry Thompson.

Mrs. Thompson Most Wonderful Cupcakes employees expect to bake up to 1,400 cupcakes and stay open at least until 10 p.m.

Free shuttles for the event will be offered from the Ferrell Center and downtown's Heritage Square.

The gates for this free event will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday and the fireworks show will start at 9:15 p.m.
