Central Texans celebrating Independence Day

There are a variety of events being held for people in Bell and McLennan Counties who want to participate in 4th of July activities.

Belton's historic parade has been around since the 1850s, and was ranked one of USA Today's top ten parades in the country.

That event starts at 10 A.M. There will also be a festival on Nolan Creek, a carnival, a fiddler's contest, a rodeo, and a patriotic program.

Fort Hood will begin its celebration at 4 P.M at Hood Stadium. It will be free to the public, and live music and entertainment will be held from 6 to 9:30 followed by a 30 minute fireworks show.

In Waco, festivities will be held next to McLane Stadium. Gates open at 6 P.M with musical entertainment going from 7:30 to 9. The HEB Fireworks Extravaganza will start at 9:15 P.M.

The HEB 4th of July All American Family Fun Fest will be held at Miller Park in Temple. Activities kick off at 4 P.M., and live musical performances begin at 6:30. The fireworks shows starts at 9:30.

Food and drinks will be available at each of the locations.
