Teen arrested for burglarizing local churches

CAMERON, TX (KXXV) -

A 17-year-old from Cameron is in the Milam County Jail after a police investigation found he was responsible for two burglaries from area churches.

According to Cameron PD Chief Randy Dixon, the First Methodist Church, located in the 100 block of North Travis in Cameron, was burglarized in the early morning hours of June 7. Police report the burglar forced their way into the building and took two large monitors.

Nearly three weeks later, on June 27, Grace Church, located in the 800 block of W. 16th in Cameron, was also burglarized by someone who used force to get into the church's office area. Two guitars and two laptops were taken during this burglary.

Through their investigation, the Cameron Police Department identified Antonio Rodriguez Jimenez as the suspect in both burglaries. He has been charged with two counts of burglary of a building.
