 TSHOF Selection Committee Sets Ballot for Class of 2016

(Waco) – The Texas Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee, comprised of media members around the state and chaired by Denne Freeman, has set the final ballot of nominees to be voted on for the Class of 2016.  Generally six nominees from the primary ballot and two from the veteran ballot will comprise the Class of 2016.

Members of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame (open to the public) will once again be able to help the selection committee determine the newest class. The deadline to become a member and be able to vote for the upcoming class is July 15th.  The official announcement of the Class of 2016 will be made in September. The banquet to enshrine the Class of 2016, presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, will take place in early 2016 in Waco.

    Baylor men’s tennis has been named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 10th consecutive year, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday. The organization also named Jimmy Bendeck, Luke De Jong, Will Little, Bjoern Petersen and Tyler Stayer as ITA Scholar-Athletes. Dating back to the 2008 season, Baylor has been recognized each year as a team and had at least two players recognized by the organization.
