Twin Peaks sign comes down in the dark of night Wednesday

WACO, TX (KXXV) - As the corporate office of the restaurant chain promised last week, the Twin Peaks sign at the site of the biker shootings on May 17 was taken down by work crews Wednesday night.

A crew from Facility Solutions Group out of Dallas arrived on the scene after dark and detached the Twin Peaks logo from the sign post in front of the closed restaurant shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Crews finished removing all of the Twin Peaks signs early Thursday morning.

Waco police released the crime scene to owners Tuesday after recovering all the evidence they could.

The chain's corporate office revoked the franchisee's license after the biker gang shootout and promised the building would not re-open as a Twin Peaks again. That same franchisee owns another Twin Peaks location in Harker Heights.

A McLennan County Jail spokesperson said Wednesday 175 suspects arrested after the shootout remain behind bars, while only two have bonded out. They each face a $1 million bond and charges of engaging in organized criminal activity.
