Bears and Mustangs to play Friday, Sept. 4 at Ford Stadium on national television.
WACO, Texas — Baylor's 2015 season-opener at SMU will be televised on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT on Sept. 4. Television details and kickoff time were announced Wednesday by the American Athletic Conference.
The game date, Friday, Sept. 4, was previously announced in February.
The contest against the Mustangs is one of five road games the Bears will play in 2015. Baylor will host six games, including Homecoming on Oct. 24, in its beautiful state-of-the-art McLane Stadium located on the Brazos River. A 12th regular-season game, the annual Shootout vs. Texas Tech (Baylor is the designated home team in 2015), will again be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Dates for games are subject to change for television purposes, and kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
Head coach Art Briles enters his eighth season at the helm of the two-time reigning Big 12 champion Bears program in 2015. Baylor's roster is made up of 17 returning starters and 51 returning lettermen from the 2014 championship squad that finished the season ranked seventh nationally, the highest final rank in school history, and played in a New Year's Six bowl (Cotton), its school-record fifth straight bowl appearance.
