House fire in Coryell County nearly spreads to another house

CORYELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - A house fire in Coryell County spread to the grass, and nearly burned another house before fire crews were able to put out the flames.

The fire started at a house on County Road 339, south of FM 107, near Moody. A family of three were in the house at the time of the fire, and all were able to get out with no injuries reported.

The flames reportedly started on the side of the house, then spread to the grass and into the nearby pasture. The blaze then spread to the pasture across the road, and almost burned another house, but crews were able to extinguish the flames before that happened.

The next door neighbor called the fire department. One of the residents who lives in the house where the fire started, says he believes that a transformer near the house started the fire.
