Temple High School holds Fish Camp for incoming freshmen

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) - Temple High School hopes new laptops will help incoming freshmen have a better learning experience.

Thursday, 9th graders at Temple's Fish Camp got a crash course in how to use their new Chromebooks. The mini-laptops will be used for almost every subject and the kids will do homework and turn in most assignments online.

School officials say it's about preparing students for life after high school

"At Temple High School, we're preparing them for a career and/or college. We have many students who will go to college, so we want to prepare them, but we also have many students who are not going to college, so we want to prepare them for a great career," said Lamar "Coach" Collins, Temple High School assistant principal.

Parents will also be trained on their child's new tech gear so they can still help with homework.
