Funeral held for Baylor student killed in crash, funeral set for Baylor grad

WACO, TX (KXXV) - A funeral was held for one of the two people killed in a Falls County accident July 29, that involved four former and current Baylor students. Funeral arrangements have now been set for the recent Baylor graduate who also died in the accident.

A funeral mass for John Patrick Stewart was held Saturday, August 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dallas.

Services for recent Baylor graduate Laura Ezinwa Onwudinanti, are set for Saturday, August 9. A celebration of the life of Laura Onwudinanti will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2024 S. Collins St., in Arlington, Texas.

The driver of the truck involved in the accident, Jake Hale, has been released from the hospital, while one of the passengers, Baylor freshman Megan Ritzi, is still at Baylor Scott & White with serious injuries.

The four were were in a Dodge pickup truck heading to Louisiana for a music festival. They were in Falls County on Highway 7, just west of Kosse, when DPS reports the driver drifted off the road, over corrected, and hit a tree.
