Local Police Departments Conduct Virtual Ride

WACO, TX (KXXV) - Several local police department conducted a virtual ride along on Friday night.

Waco, Hewitt and Belton police officers started live tweeting at 6 p.m. as they responded to calls in the area. This allowed the public to know what officers encounter on a normal shift.

The Waco Police Department responded to several calls during the virtual ride along, some of them are listed below.

After 6 p.m.,Waco police department arrested a woman wanted on felony theft charges. According to officers, the suspect’s mom stalled me because she did not want her baby to go to jail.

Later in the evening, an officer worked a criminal mischief call. Officers said vandals threw rocks through a sign and LED display causing over $5,000 worth of damage.

During a traffic stop, Hondo, a K9 officer found rocks of cocaine in a pill bottle hidden in a car.
