Man arrested for fight over truck

MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - Police arrested a man accused of forcing his way into a man's house, then beating him during a dispute over a truck.

Johnathon Kyle Cureton has been charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.

McLennan County Sheriff Office Chief Deputy Matt Cawthon says deputies were called to a home in the 4800 of Highway 77, south of Robinson, Wednesday night just before midnight, about an assault.

Deputies were told that a man, upset about a truck he had put money down on, had forced his way into the back of a house, and demanded his money back. When the man, later identified as Cureton, was told the other man didn't have the money, he began beating up the man who had been working on the truck.

The fight moved outside as law enforcement was called, but Cureton was gone by the time deputies arrived. Deputies took statements, and got information out to other agencies about the identity of the man. Robinson police found him a short time later and took him into custody.
