Traffic Stop Leads to Three Arrests

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) - The Killeen Police Department arrested three people and seized a large amount of narcotics last Wednesday.

Killeen detectives conducted a traffic stop in the 5500 block of East Central Texas Expressway. The stop led to the seizure of 20 pounds of packaged marijuana and a large amount of cash.

28-year-old Marcus Vaughn Furr of Killeen, 27-year-old Lester Jerome Sumpter and 26-year-old April Natalie Armenta, both of El Paso, face charges for possession of marijuana over five pounds.

Justice of Peace Garland Potvin arraigned them on July 25 and set a bond of $50,000 per suspect.

More arrests are possible involving this case.
