DPS Identifies Baylor University Students Killed in Crash

FALLS COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - UPDATE: The Department of Public Safety identified the two Baylor students who died in a car crash in Falls County Tuesday morning.

21-year-old Laura Ezinwa Onwudinanti from Grand Prairie, and 19-year-old John Patrick Stewart of Dallas were killed in that crash. They were both passengers.

Passenger Megan Taylor Ritzi, 18, and driver Jacob Travis Hale, 21, of Fort Worth, are at Baylor Scott & White in Temple. Ritz is in critical condition and Hale is in fair condition.

There was a fatal crash on Highway 7 in Falls County Tuesday morning, that killed two people and critically injured two others.

DPS reports the wreck occurred about 9:30 a.m. near Kosse, when a 2003 Dodge pickup drifted off the road, over corrected, then left the roadway, and hit a tree on the passenger side. Smoke coming from the engine at the time of the crash first led witnesses to believe the truck was burning.

DPS confirms two from the crash are dead, one man and one woman. Two others, a man and a woman, were airlifted to Scott & White Hospital.

Names of the injured and deceased have not been released, pending notification of next of kin. DPS reports all four involved were college students and were from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area.
