Candlelight Vigil Aims to Raise Awareness of Unsolved Murder

WACO - Family and friends of a 2011 murder victim held a candlelight vigil on Wednesday to remember him and to raise awareness about his unsolved murder.

Waco police found Robert Earl Washington’s body in a car on 22nd St. and Wood Ave. three years ago.

Washington's mother, Josephine, said police have not done enough to find her son’s killer.

“I am fed up. I am tired and I want them to find justice for my son. I’ve raised his daughter, I need closure,” said Washington.

Waco Police Department spokesman Sgt. Patrick Swanton said the force is doing everything it can to solve this case.

If you have any information, you can contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500.

Washington’s mother is setting up a reward fund for those who help arrest and convict her son’s killer. If you would like to donate, you may email
