WACO - Police have arrested three people accused of stealing metal from a Waco commercial construction site Tuesday night.

Larry Dowayne Corsey, Peggy Joyce Johnson and Tommy Earl Lewis have all been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.

According to Sgt. Patrick Swanton with Waco PD, police got a call at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday night, about a theft from a commercial construction site for a new business in the 1000 block of S. 8th St.

Responding officers found Peggy Johnson and Tommy Lewis on site, and immediately took them into custody. Witnesses told police there was a third person there that had been working with them to load metal into a truck.

Police found Larry Corsey walking over the South 11th St. footbridge, and took him into custody. He was taken to a local hospital for an injury he apparently sustained while loading the metal.

After treatment for a cut, Corsey, along with Johnson and Lewis, were taken to McLennan County Jail to face charges of engaging in organized criminal activity.
