DALLAS (AP) - Former first lady Laura Bush says she and former President George W. Bush have drawn inspiration on aging gracefully from their parents.
She spoke Tuesday at a Dallas conference for the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, noting her husband was home icing his knee after having it partially replaced.
Talking about the skydive her father-in-law, former President George H.W. Bush, made last month to celebrate his 90th birthday, she said, "You really can lead a full life, no matter what age you are."
She expressed admiration that her 94-year-old mother and late father voluntarily gave up driving at the right time.
Bush said interests developed recently include yoga for her, painting for her husband, and a March trip they took to ancient Christian sites in Ethiopia.
