Man leads trooper on high speed chase

WACO, TX (KXXV) - A 26-year-old Waco man is in jail on numerous charges after getting involved in a high speed chase with a DPS trooper Monday night.

Brunshae Rayvon Degrate faces charges of felony evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, DWI, a Waco warrant for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in a drug free zone, and failure to pay child support.

Trooper DL Wilson with DPS reports the trooper initially tried to stop Degrate on Highway 77, near the traffic circle in Waco. Degrate fled and drove through several streets, eventually crashing out at 12th St., near I-35.

Degrate then ran on foot from the wrecked vehicle, and was chased on foot by the trooper, who tackled him on top of a fence.

Both went to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest to be checked out, before Degrate was transported to the mcLennan County jail.
