Local man found with over 100 bars of Xanax

WACO, TX (KXXV) - A Waco man already out on bail for a cocaine charge, has been arrested on new charges after he ran from police, and they found 118 Xanax bars on him.

Antonio Maurice Wilkerson was taken to jail and his original bond was revoked and set at $250,000. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and evading arrest on foot.

The incident started with a traffic stop Monday night at 13th and Colcord Ave. in Waco. The driver stopped after being pulled over, then got out of his car and ran. Officers chased after him on foot, and he was taken down with the help of a K9 unit.

Officers saw him throwing away a bottle as he ran. Police recovered the bottle and found 118 bars of Xanax inside, which is considered by police to be a large amount.
