Family displaced by morning fire in Waco

WACO - Two adults and five children were displaced after an early Friday morning fire in Waco.

Waco Police and the Waco Fire Department received a call just before 4 a.m. about a house on fire in the 2000 block of Herring Ave. in Waco.

The back porch of a single story home caught fire, spreading smoke into the house. Fire crews were able to get the fire under control, but do not yet know how the fire started.

The Red Cross is helping the family while they are out of their house.
