One man injured in Robertson County oil storage explosion

ROBERTSON COUNTY - One man was injured after an explosion at oil storage containers in Robertson County Wednesday morning.

The explosion happened about noon Wednesday, on Rabe Cutoff Rd., just off Highway 79 near Franklin. A man, who was subcontracted to remove two holding tanks, was injured and Life Flighted to the burn unit at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Representatives from Finley Resources, who own the well site, say that the victim may have been cutting the cat walk ladder from a tank with a blow torch, instead of unscrewing it.

The condition of the man is unknown at this time, and the fire has been put out.
