Local Boys & Girls Club has van tires slashed

Operations for one Waco area nonprofit organization got a little tougher Wednesday when employees of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Waco arrived to find all four tires on both of their vans had been slashed.

Executive Director John "Bubba" Myers says this happened at their Joe Troy Brownsfield branch at 21st and Alexander in Waco. Myers also says they still don't know if insurance will cover the cost, but repairs were made quickly. The vans were back on the road before noon.

The vans run every morning and afternoon during the summer, carrying a total of about 200 kids to different programs and field trips.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Waco are the oldest in the state, having opened in 1909.
