Police: Woman threatens to stab children, set fire to apartment while on K2

WACO -

A 58-year-old Waco woman is in the McLennan County Jail, accused of threatening to stab her two teenage children and then set a fire in their apartment after smoking K2.

Linda Faye Cooper faces two counts of aggravated assault and an arson charge. Her bond has been set at $300,000 total for the charges.

According to Sgt. Patrick Swanton with Waco PD, police were called out to an apartment in the 4700 block of Fort Ave., at 3 a.m. Sunday morning, about a disturbance.

Cooper's son and daughter told police that their mother had been smoking K2, and was acting erratically. Police say at one point, Cooper came at her 15-year-old son with a knife. Her 19-year-old daughter tried to intervene, and Cooper is accused of pulling a pair of scissors on her.

After that, they backed off and went to call police.

Cooper is also accused of trying to start a fire in the living room of the apartment.
