WACO - Police arrested two intoxicated women after a scary looking wreck in Waco Tuesday night.

The accident happened before 9 p.m. Tuesday, when a white car heading east on Waco Dr. at Garrison, was going the wrong way. That white car hit another vehicle head-on.

Dameka Atinga and Erica Laday McVea were both arrested at the scene of the wreck. Atinga has been charged with DWI with a child passenger, intoxication assault and two counts of injury to a child. McVea faces two charges of endangering a child.

Police identified Atinga as the driver of the white car. She was charged after police determined she was intoxicated. Because there were two children in the car, who received minor injuries, she was also charged with injury to a child.

According to police, McVea was the mother of the children in the car, and she was also intoxicated at the time of the wreck. She was charged for allowing the children in a car with an intoxicated driver.

Police say at least one person in each car was taken to the hospital, but the accident looked worse than it was. No one was seriously injured.
