Former Harker Heights Football Player Dies in Wreck

BURNET COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

Former Harker Heights High School football player Joseph Alaniz is dead after a rollover accident in Burnet County early Tuesday morning.

At 3:06 a.m. Tuesday, Texas Department of Public Safety Austin troopers responded to an accident on FM 1431, about 15 miles east of Marble Falls.

The 2007 Mazda 3 was holding four teens when the driver, 18-year-old Brandon Cook, swerved to miss a deer, fish tailed and rolled over. Alaniz was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Cook and two others, 19-year-old Vansantha Fraser and 19-year-old Drequan Meyers, were hurt and are at Seton Medical Center Williamson at Rock Rock. Fraser and Cook are both in stable condition. Meyers remains in critical condition.
