Judge refuses to reduce bail for Bell County man accused of theft and money laundering

BELL COUNTY - A Bell County man accused of misappropriating money given to him for investments back in 2007 to 2009, has been unsuccessful in trying to have his bail reduced.

Andrew Joseph Longoria remains in the Bell County Jail awaiting trial on 24 counts of theft, adding up to over $100,000, 24 counts of investment fraud and one count of money laundering. He was indicted on these charges by a Bell County Grand Jury back in January 2014.

A 27th District Court judge refused to lower his bond Tuesday afternoon. Longoria is accused of borrowing money from clients and not repaying it, as well as taking money meant to be invested in securities and using it for himself.

The alleged crimes date back from 2007 to 2009. Records show that Longoria had been registered to work with three different financial service companies in Harker Heights.
